Arthroplasty (also known as joint replacement) is a surgery where the ends of bones of a joint are replaced with metal and plastic.  This surgery is performed when a joint has been destroyed by arthritis or other types of joint diseases.

Dr. Hirahara does not perform joint replacements and refers patients to other surgeons for this procedure.
